Our Mission

We will establish a unique learning centre which will become the focal point of cultural and spiritual development in a deep relationship with the natural world. This centre will bring much needed restoration to water, land and community - acting as a remedy to the crises of modern culture.

Locally Rooted, Globally Connected

Learning from indigenous cultures will be foundational to The School of Belonging and wisdom keepers from Yawanawa and Kogi tribes have committed to visit and teach at the school.

Indigenous cultures are key to safeguarding biodiversity and the time has come to learn from them. Cultural and linguistic diversity is an under-appreciated indicator of biodiversity, our project needs to respond to and reflect our own unique environment in Kent.

Caring and Inclusive

We will establish a unique learning centre which will become the focal point of cultural and spiritual development in a deep relationship with the natural world. Nurturing the unique gifts of the next generation and giving them a space for optimal development.

We are committed to include those who wouldn't usually have access to these spaces. We have connections with inner city young people, the deaf community and refugees.

Our project will bring ecological restoration by recovering a human culture that has the capacity to do so. Only in relationship to place can we ensure flourishing for all life.

What we want to achieve:

  • Transmission of Indigenous wisdom so we can relearn how to be native in our own land

  • Providing an alternative or addition to formal education as well as supporting homeschoolers

  • Multigenerational learning

  • Contribute to reducing disconnection, social isolation and offer a more meaningful way to learn and live

  • Support those wanting to improve their mental and physical health as well as spiritual nourishment

  • Contributing to optimal human development

  • Forming a community

  • Connecting with nature

  • Nutritious food production

  • Cleaner air, water and soil

  • Meaningful enterprise & livelihoods

  • Communicate approach to influence other projects
